Sri Lanka Nat’l Quran Competition Finals Slated for December

INQA – The final stage of the third national Holy Quran competition of Sri Lanka will be held next month.

It will take place in Colombo, the capital, from December 18 to 20, 2025, Saraha website reported.

The Saudi ministry of Islamic affairs, call and guidance, through the religious attaché of the Saudi embassy in India, will organize the Quranic event in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Religious and Cultural Affairs of the government of Sri Lanka.

The aim of the competition is to encourage members of the Sri Lankan Muslim community to memorize the Holy Quran and reflect on its verses.

The competition is open to students enrolled in Arabic schools and Quran memorization schools registered with the Department of Islamic Affairs, as well as accredited private and government schools, and is divided into four categories for boys and girls.

The preliminary round of the competition is scheduled to be held from November 18 to 22, 2025, at five centers across Sri Lanka, and the final stage will be held in Colombo from December 18 to 20.

This competition is part of the ministry’s efforts to promote the values of the Holy Quran among youth and to support memorization and recitation programs within Muslim communities.
